Artist Books are a wonderfully diverse genre and my work is much the same. I'm fascinated by structures and boxes, both traditional and invented. Most of the books included here have some unique sculptural or spacial element to them.

BOXMAKING SERIES: Holiday Giftboxes/ December 22, 1pm-3:30pm PST

$65.00

ONLINE WORKSHOP: Making Holiday Gift boxes with Paper
DATE & TIME: December 22, 1pm-3:30pm PST
COST: $65.00 (Kit and Shipping included)

MATERIAL KIT INCLUDED: Two sets of cardstock pre-printed templates for 4 boxes (one in class and one on your own), double-sided tape and glue stick, a stylus for scoring, 1 pre-printed set of gift tags to accompany, additional papers for decorating, and altering the templates.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

This holiday put a little extra love into your gifts. Spend an evening with me in this fun and easy morning/evening session where we create 4 different custom paper (heavyweight cardstock) enclosures of various sizes for friends and loved ones. Using provided materials from the course kit of templates and preprinted patterns, we’ll build small gift boxes. Students receive an extra set of patterns so that they can create additional boxes after the class and also duplicate the patterns for the versions of boxes they really enjoy in other papers and cards. Along the way, we will be discussing how to replicate the process on your own, and ways to scale the templates larger or smaller for your perfect gift.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

Pencil and Notebook
Cutting Mat (8x10 or larger)
Scissors
Exacto, snap blade or scalpel knife
Ruler (12” or similar)
Bone or Teflon folder

OPTIONAL TOOLS: small metal triangle, bookbinding divider, rubber cement eraser, small scissors

PLEASE NOTE: Any students wishing to have personal time, assistance, and feedback can book additional time with the instructor at a reduced rate. Every student works at a different pace and experience level. The instructor will attempt to give time for questions and work within the framework of the course.
