Artist Books are a wonderfully diverse genre and my work is much the same. I'm fascinated by structures and boxes, both traditional and invented. Most of the books included here have some unique sculptural or spacial element to them.

Power to the Print

Exhibition Dates: March 5 - April 2 2024
BRDG  Project
3300 Tejon St.
Denver, CO 80211

Since the invention of the printing press in the fifteenth century, printmaking has provided the means for wide circulation and accessible communication of progressive and democratic ideals. During democracy movements around the world, it has been printmakers who have helped get the word out. As an inexpensive, accessible, and participatory medium, hand pulled prints have the power to promote social change. Prints in the physical public space counter the digital space that often leaves out disenfranchised communities. Power to the Print, a month-long group exhibition at the BRDG gallery in Denver unites a diverse group of Colorado artists who use print media as a tool for social change. These artists engage with ideas of decolonization, social and restorative justice, equality, resistance and interconnected solidarity around the world.

Democratic Screenprinting Station: March 9, 3:00 PM
"Drop in and join artists Nikki Pike and Sarah Wallace Scott at the BRDG Project Gallery where you are invited to print a pro-democracy screen print on paper, or thrifted materials. Letterpress Workshop: March 15, 5:00 PM - Rhiannon Alpers
"The power of the press comes to the BRDG Project Gallery for an evening of letterpress printing on a mobile letterpress with artist Rhiannon Alpers. Create your own powerful print and bind it into a quick blank book to take with you. Materials, words and ink provided -- you power the press to make the print."
